To help us fix things quickly, please include:
Please never send us Wi-Fi passwords.
Does the app need an internet connection? No. Wifiary works entirely offline and never sends anything anywhere.
Why does the app ask for location permission? iOS only allows an app to read the name of the Wi-Fi network you are connected to if location access is granted. That is the only reason it is used, and your location is never stored or sent anywhere. If you decline, you can still type the network name yourself.
Why does the scanner show "Camera unavailable"? The device has no camera available for scanning. You can still read a QR code from a picture using "Choose photo".
Camera access was denied by mistake. Open iOS Settings, find Wifiary, and enable Camera. The Scan tab also offers a shortcut to that screen.
"Connect" did not join the network. Check that the password and security type are correct, and that the network is in range. Connecting from inside an app is handled by iOS and can fail for hidden networks, captive-portal networks, or enterprise networks that need extra credentials. You can always connect manually through iOS Settings.
Where are my passwords stored? Network names and notes are stored in the app's local database on your device; passwords are kept in the iOS Keychain. Nothing leaves your device.
Will my saved networks transfer to a new phone? Only if they are included in your device backup and you restore it to the new device. Deleting the app deletes its data.
How do I delete everything? Swipe a network to delete it, use "Clear All" on the Saved tab, or delete the app to remove all of its data.
Send them to [email protected] — both are welcome.
