Summary
Wifiary does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. The app has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no user accounts. Everything you create stays on your device.
What the app stores on your device
- Network names and notes — saved networks are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData).
- Wi-Fi passwords — stored in the iOS Keychain on your device, protected by the system.
- App settings — small preferences such as whether you have completed the intro screens.
None of this is uploaded anywhere. We have no servers and cannot see your data.
Data we collect
None. Wifiary makes no network requests of any kind and contains no analytics or advertising SDKs.
Permissions the app may request
- Camera — used only to scan a Wi-Fi QR code in real time. Nothing is recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.
- Photo Library (add only) — used only to save a QR code image that you explicitly choose to save. The app cannot read your existing photos with this permission.
- Photo selection — if you pick a photo to scan a QR code from, that image is read once on your device to find the code and is not stored or transmitted.
- Location (while in use) — iOS requires location permission before an app is allowed to read the name of the Wi-Fi network you are currently connected to. Wifiary uses it only for that purpose. Your location is never stored, logged, or sent anywhere.
All permissions are optional. If you decline them, the related feature is simply unavailable; the rest of the app keeps working.
Sharing your data
We do not share data because we do not receive any. If you choose to share a QR code image using the iOS share sheet, that action is handled by iOS and by the app you send it to.
Children
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
