How It Works

FileBeam creates a temporary local server on your WiFi network to share files. Open the app, select a file, and scan the QR code from another device on the same network to download it.

Frequently Asked Questions

The QR code doesn't work

Make sure both devices are connected to the same WiFi network. The server only works on your local network.

The file won't download

Check that the server is running (the stop button should be visible). Large files may take a moment to begin transferring.

Video won't play in the browser

Some video formats are not compatible with browser players. Use the convert option when sharing to convert to a compatible MP4 format.

Can others outside my network access my files?

No. FileBeam only creates a server on your local network. Files are not accessible from the internet.

How do I stop sharing?

Tap the stop button or close the app. The server shuts down immediately.
